About me:
Here's the story about why I started Pet Health Focus:

My beautiful black Lab, Keetna, was very ill and was diagnosed with diabetes. She went through many rough patches before she stabilized, and I thought I would lose her. During this time, I started to research canine diabetes, and was surprised at how little information was available, even on the Internet. So I dove in and worked with veterinarians and the CSU veterinary college to figure out how to care for my wonderful companion.

I grew much closer to my dog, with intuition being my best guide to helping her. Awakening that intuition was like coming home; it opened the door to studying with several spiritual mentors and discovering a new path in life.

In 2007 I started Pet Health Focus (http://www.pethealthfocus.com), a growing online community for "pet people." I also help people and animals with intuitive counseling, individual coaching and workshops.

Animal Communication

I can help you communicate with the animals in your life to learn about their behavior, health, and other issues. Together we will learn what's happening for our pets, how they are reacting, and what you can do to help them.

I've learned to communicate intuitively with people and animals through studying with healers and working with clients. I'm completing my studies under Kelly Ballard's Light Worker certification program. An important part of completing my certification is to offer free sessions to hone my intuitive skills.

I have ten free sessions still available. By allowing me to help you, you also help me with an important goal. After these ten sessions are filled, I will offer half-price sessions through the end of November.

To contact me, send me a message through this page (below my photo) or e-mail me at: acasey @ pethealthfocus.com (remove the spaces).

Workshops I offer:

Your Intuitive Nature
An introductory course on discovering your intuition through your connection with animals. Come explore the connection you have always had with animals - discover your animal totems and spirit guides, and what different animals mean in your life.

Animal Communication
You have a special bond with animals - not just the pets in your house, but that fox you saw last week, the deer in the forest. You want to know what your pets are thinking, feeling, needing. Discover your natural-born ability to communicate with animals. We'll learn how to get grounded and then "get out of our minds" to get into the animals' way of understanding the world.

If you're interested in these workshops, write to me and I'll let you know the schedule.

Custom Flower Essence Remedies

Dogs and cats respond easily to the gentle support of flower essences. These natural remedies cannot harm your pets, but help support them in whatever is happening in their lives right now. Remedies help animals with anxiety, illness, travel, behavior issues, and even the transition from this world to the next.

Administer 4 drops of flower essence remedy into your pet's water each day. A vial of Flower Essence remedy costs $12.00.

Contact me for more information.
About my pets:
Through Keetna's struggle with diabetes and other health issues, she was my constant companion and motivator. She passed away last August, but lives on as my inspiration to help people understand and care for animals.

Firefighter saves kitten with mouth-to-mouth...

Cute Overload (http://cuteoverload.com) shows photos of a cat rescued from a fire. The cat wasn't breathing so the firefighter did not hesitate to do what needed to be done - give the cat mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. The cat was later given oxygen in an ambulance. Hooray for saving the cat - this is one popular fireman with the ladies right now...

Dogs-Only Beach

If you think dog parks are cool, the dogs on Cyprus have their own beach! After complaints that dogs had no place to swim and cool off in the hot weather, officials designated part of the beach for dog walking and swimming in the ocean. Now locals and travelers to the popular vacation spot have someplace to take their pets. Legend has it that shepherds used to take their flocks to the same area to cool off. Is our drinking water causing diabetes?

I just read a disturbing article about arsenic in drinking water possibly contributing to diabetes. The link is that people with a higher concentration of arsenic in their bodies have a much higher incidence of diabetes. The research confirms tests previously done with animals. Can this help explain the epidemic in diabetes in humans and our pets? http://health.usnews.com/articles/health/diabetes/2008/08/19/is-your-drinking-water-giving-you-diabetes.html

Remembering Keetna

Just last week I got a note from a member telling me her dog had died. She wrote eloquently about the end of an era of the dog who had taught her so much. My heart went out to her and I admired her for being able to put her feelings on paper so soon. I have struggled with just that task for almost a year - August 18th marks the day last year that we lost our beautiful Keetna. She is the inspiration for this community, the reason I learned about caring for sick animals and how close you grow in… Continue

Don't you love Manny in the family photos? hahaha, he had just finished playing in the sand and sniffing and has a mouth full of mud/sand! I swear he is the cutest dog in the world! Love that little guy....this am, he just rolled over and waned to have a tummy rub, a habit my mom has gotten him into and now he expects. Hey you may have to consider taking on the "dog nanny" roll to help those of us who have spoiled our pets and now need the habits broken...... Could be a weekly tv series for ya!

Have a great day,

Steph

Hi Amy~ This is really amazing that you started this! I am very impressed~and thankful to know that I'm not alone in my fear for my beloved dog. I am interested in learning more about what I can do to help keep Cash's immune system up so that the cancer does not come back antime soon. We are opting not to do the chemo & raidation , but I have heard a little about ways to control the disease thru diet and immunity boosters.? any info you have to help I would appreciate. It's just nice to talk about it with other big time animal lovers!

Thanks for being my friend. I look forward to the challenges of owning Simba, the cat, Dennis the Menace, the dog, and Ogden Blue, the parakeet. In time I will introduce my family to the Pet Health Focus Community.

Thank you for inviting me here!
I'm working on a puppy mill since last Friday, were several animals were removed from the miller's property, so I won't be participating much for lack of time, but will as soon as things settle down a bit.
