Hello, I'm Silvia and I live with Hubby Mike and pooches Davie and Will in Greenfield, Nova Scotia , Canada. We own dogs since 1993 and I am professionally involved with dogs since 1995. I am passionate about dogs, find them fascinating and, thanks to our move from busy Calgary (Alberta) to Nova Scotia, finally have the time to connect to other dog-people and exchange wisdom, opinions and stories.
About my pets:
Davie is an 9-year-old Australian Shepherd with maybe a touch of Border Collie in her, and Will is a 6-year-old Border Collie with possibly a lot of Belgian Tervuren in her.
They are both girls with boy names and both rescue dogs. Will is the heroine of my book "Dump Dog."
Many years ago, a lost dog wandered into my Dad's shop in Denver. He brought her home and advertised about a lost dog, but we all hoped that no one would come for her. After about 3 weeks, a family came for her -- she had wandered very far from her home in the country (I don't remember where, I was just a kiddo). The family must have thought us suburbanites didn't know much about animals, as we all cried and said goodbye to "Herbie".
Oh, thank you so much, Amy. By the way, there is a review in the Spring edition of Modern Dog about Dump Dog.
I'll let Davie and Will know. I am sure they'll be flattered - at least Davie. The relishes in media attention.
Thanks for joining today - it's great to see you and the girls here! I'm looking forward to hearing some of your stories and any advice you have to share.

We had named her Herbie because she was a "her".

And - I added a short review of your book here: http://www.pethealthfocus.com/articles/topic/show?id=917805%3ATopic%3A3341
So you'll be mentioned twice in the newsletter - should be coming out later tonight or tomorrow morning.
Thanks-
Amy
